Urban transit operators needed reliable, high-speed onboard connectivity for both passengers and operational systems. The challenge was integrating complex radio, IP, and Wi-Fi networks within confined train and tunnel environments — without interrupting daily service.

I led the technical programme from RFP through proof-of-concept to commercial deployment, coordinating between engineering, product, and commercial teams.

Key contributions included:

• Developing the “Connected Transit” proof-of-concept testbed to validate new communication technologies. 
• Translating design concepts into working prototypes used in multiple bids across North America. 
• Aligning vendor, operator, and client requirements to accelerate contract readiness and rollout. 
• Embedding a governance structure that enabled rapid iteration and regulatory approval.  

• Proof-of-concept evolved into full-scale deployments across the UK, Canada, and US.
• Multiple multi-million-dollar contracts secured using the validated design.
• Cisco incorporated the design into their global “Validated Design” solution.
• Established Boldyn as a recognised leader in connected transit technology.
